The Saint Francis Scholarship Competition is being held on the University of Saint Francis campus where qualified high school seniors are invited to compete for top scholarships and to learn more about our academics through engagement with USF faculty and staff. This event is by invitation only.

 

Saint Francis will award renewable full-tuition scholarships to two students, $28,000 scholarships to 10 students and $1,000 scholarships to all other competitors. All awardees will also carry the honor of being named Saint Francis Scholars, signifying academic commitment and excellence.

 

Qualified high school seniors (starting at USF in fall 2025) invited to the scholarship competition must register for and attend on one of two dates:

  • Nov. 23, 2024, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Feb. 15, 2025, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

 

Event registration:

A registration link will be sent to those invited to the competition.

 

The Saint Francis Scholarship Competition will consist of two breakout sessions: group interviews with faculty and staff and an essay competition. 

 

Students are encouraged to wear professional attire. Registration is required.

10:45-10:55 Welcome to Saint Francis (student-only session due to limited capacity)  

 

10:55-11:15 Break/walk to Session 1 

 

11:15-12:15 Session 1: Student Group Discussion or Essay-Writing 
Admissions staff will place each student in a breakout session group. Discussion and essay will each take 45 minutes. 

 

12:15-1:15 Lunch Achatz 3rd floor 

 

1:15-1:30 Break/walk to Session 2 

 

1:30-2:30 Session 2: Student Group Discussion or Essay-Writing  
Admissions staff will place each student in a breakout session group. Discussion and essay will each take 45 minutes. 

 

2:30 Dismissal 
Student and parents will meet at Achatz Hall of Science and dismiss from there. 

 

Parents and guardians are welcome to attend the event with their children. There will be parent sessions and other places to visit on campus while the students are in their competition sessions.

Scholarship winner announcements: 

Finalists will be announced after each event, and the full-tuition winners will be announced at the end of February, following the second scholarship competition date. 

 

In certain circumstances, other financial aid you receive may result in your offer being reduced and/or replaced. All financial aid you receive, when combined with scholarships, cannot exceed the total cost of tuition and fees.
